My sculpture investigates the expressive trace of natural phenomena and of human presence. These inquiries engage physical and symbolic transformations (and as impositions) of structured order on organic forms. Architectonic, geological, plant and animal system associations are drawn upon through juxtapositions of material surfaces, gravitational weight, and relationships of scale. More expansive themes consider the ordered and structured tendencies of human intervention and explore context, contradiction, impotence, folly and other plays on form, image, and function conceptual trajectories.
